The Little Chapel Bathroom (or the hexagon tile house) project was in a home in a well-established Denton neighborhood. It had been renovated in the past, but the style did not flow well with what our client had done in the rest of her home. This guest bathroom was small, but backed up to a seldom-used closet in the entry. Our goals for the project were to reconfigure the bathroom layout to extend into the unused closet and update the entire space with tile and paint.
Before
The tiled countertop and yellow accent tile in the shower was bright and out of date. While the vessel sink and faucet were upgrades at some point, they didn’t fit our client’s needs or style. The ceiling dropped down a few inches above the bathtub, which created the feeling of far less space in the shower.

The Process
We removed the wall between the closet and bathroom and demoed the entire space, except for the bathtub. The vanity was in good shape, so we reoriented it for the new layout and painted it. New tile was installed on the floor and shower surround, and we used Carrara marble for the countertop. Our client chose some of our favorite floor tile to date – a charcoal hexagon porcelain tile. She even found a coordinating vanity mirror!
