The Boss Bathroom

BEFOREAFTER

INTRO

Welcome to the Boss Bathroom! This beautiful space was named after Kelley’s dad’s grandpa name – “boss”, and we’re beyond excited to show you the transformation. Before we dive into the details, let’s take a look at what the bathroom looked like before we started.

BEFORE

The original bathtub was tiny and uncomfortable for the homeowners. Although they loved the beautiful solid wood cabinetry, the continued browns and golds throughout the other bathroom elements left the space feeling too dark and heavy. Our goal with this bathroom was to make the room brighter and more comfortable for our clients.

DURING

In our new design, we retained the general layout, stained cabinets, and countertop tower. We installed white Calacatta Laza quartz for the countertops to lighten the space and better highlight the stained cabinetry. Since there was a large open area in the center of the bathroom, we installed the stone-look floor tile in a herringbone pattern to add texture. We replaced the corner bathtub with a larger freestanding tub with a floor mount filler surrounded by board and batten millwork.  In order to eliminate the 2″ blinds above the bathtub, we swapped out the existing windows for obscure glass to let in natural light while retaining privacy.

The previous shower included a recessed pan, and we converted this into a custom shower with a zero-entry threshold. We also added two shampoo niches – one hidden behind the pony wall – for  plenty of shower storage! The blue-gray 3×12 ceramic shower wall tile elevates the look of a traditional subway tile, especially the contrasted with a charcoal hexagon tile for the shower floor. We installed custom shower glass and updated the shower door location for better access.

The substantial arched mirrors are a focal point in this bathroom, and we updated the paint on the walls, ceiling, and trim for a lighter and brighter finish.

AFTER

The finished bathroom is a bright and inviting space that our clients love! We used oil-rubbed bronze fixtures, Delta faucets, and sleek porcelain undermount sinks for a modern and polished look. The freestanding tub, herringbone tile, and arched mirrors all add to the luxury of the space. We’re so happy with the transformation of the Boss Bathroom!
