We’re excited to showcase a renovation that has taken a beloved family kitchen and transformed it into a sophisticated and highly functional space. With a focus on luxurious finishes and smart design elements, we brought a fresh, modern aesthetic to the kitchen, laundry room, and several other key areas. Every detail was thoughtfully selected to meet our clients’ needs for beauty, efficiency, and convenience.

This transformation wasn’t just about aesthetics—it was about rethinking the flow and functionality of the home. The new layout, enhanced lighting, and curated details reflect a balance between timeless style and practical solutions, making daily life easier and more enjoyable for the homeowners.

Our clients loved their home but knew it was time for a significant update. The kitchen, laundry room, and dining areas, though full of character, had become outdated. The kitchen layout, in particular, was cluttered by a central column that restricted movement, while the existing cabinets and flooring were showing clear signs of wear and tear. The old carpet in adjoining areas added to the outdated feel, and the lack of convenient electrical outlets and storage solutions in key spaces made everyday tasks more challenging.

The clients dreamed of an open, welcoming kitchen with ample storage, a modern design, and plenty of counter space. They also envisioned a more functional laundry room with updated cabinetry and work surfaces. To top it off, they wanted to extend their living space by enclosing a portion of their back patio, turning it into an integrated part of the home.

The project began with a clear vision: to create a home that would not only look elegant but also support the practical demands of modern living.

The renovation process took us through various parts of the home, with each area receiving a tailored update. Here’s how we elevated this home’s design:

KITCHEN RENOVATION

Countertops and Sink: The kitchen was updated with luxurious Black Pearl Leathered Granite for the island, providing both elegance and durability. We selected Daltile Alpine Winter Quartz for the perimeter countertops, which beautifully complements the apron front sink in coal black. The addition of the Rickert Rondine brick-look tile backsplash with warm grey grout and ivory trim enhances the overall aesthetic and adds texture to the space.

Flooring: The aging carpet was replaced with Happy Floors Pietra D’Assissi Grigio tile laid in a horizontal brick pattern, running seamlessly through the kitchen, laundry, and dining room. This new flooring creates a unified look while offering enhanced durability.

Cabinetry and Appliances: We installed custom paint-grade Shaker-style cabinetry throughout the kitchen, including a new range wall featuring a custom vent hood cabinet, an extended island, fridge wall cabinetry, and a peninsula with a built-in farmhouse sink and dishwasher. Appliances were also updated.

Structural Changes: The most significant change in the space was enclosing a patio in order to add nearly 60 sq. ft. to the kitchen and breakfast areas. We also removed the central column near the sink, significantly opening up the space. Faux beams were added to the ceiling to conceal structural elements and create visual interest.

Electrical and Lighting: To ensure functionality, we modified the electrical layout, installing LED recessed can lights throughout the kitchen as well as pendant lights for an extra touch of luxury. Additional outlets were strategically placed to provide modern convenience.

LAUNDRY ROOM RENOVATION

Countertops and Storage: The laundry room received a significant upgrade with Black Pearl Leathered Granite countertops that complement the new Shaker-style cabinetry. The washing machine water supply box was lowered for seamless countertop installation over the washer and dryer.

Flooring and Lighting: The flooring was updated to match the kitchen with Happy Floors Pietra D’Assissi Grigio tile. New LED recessed lights brightened the space, enhancing its functionality.

ADDITIONAL UPDATES

Powder Bathroom: We updated the paint in the powder bathroom with Sherwin Williams Oyster Bay and Greek Villa. The updates provided a simple yet elegant refresh.

And the biggest change of all according to our client:

This renovation was focused on creating a space that balances style and functionality. The kitchen’s new open layout fosters a welcoming atmosphere, ideal for both everyday living and entertaining. By removing the column, we were able to significantly improve the flow of the space, making it feel more spacious and connected.

In the laundry room, the updates have transformed it into a highly functional area with increased storage and workspace. The newly enclosed patio provided valuable additional square footage and seamlessly integrated into the home’s overall layout.
