Blue+Gray Master Bath
INTRO
Hello, friends! Welcome back to our ongoing project series! These “Before and After” blog posts are one of our favorite things to share with you and we simply cannot wait to showcase this project. This project in particular is near and dear to our hearts as we got to revisit some previous clients. Seeing familiar faces again is such a treat. The last time we saw this family, we had the privilege of creating the kitchen of their dreams. This time around, it was time to turn our attention to the master bathroom. Join us as we take you through the project!
BEFORE
This remodel was all about giving the master bathroom a much-needed face lift. The original layout of the room featured a very dated and inefficient design, so our focus for this renovation was on using the space more effectively and updating the style. Initially, the bathroom’s layout featured a bathtub awkwardly positioned in the middle of the room, impeding easy access. Our first course of action was to relocate the bathtub and the expand the shower area to optimize functionality. Together with our client, we created a beautiful redesign that would give this family a timeless master bath that they can enjoy to the fullest. Let’s dive on in to the process.
DURING
Our philosophy at Irwin Construction has always been that your space should serve you, not the other way around. Thus, our initial objective was to relocate that bathtub to a more advantageous location for our client!
We began with an extensive demolition, which included the removal of the bathtub, shower, vanity, and flooring. Both curved walls were dismantled, and one corner was squared off to accommodate a linen cabinet inside the toilet room. In addition, a pocket door was installed for the toilet room for space efficiency.
The existing bathtub was replaced with a freestanding tub, thoughtfully relocated to the corner of the bathroom. Simultaneously, we expanded the shower area, complete with new plumbing fixtures. Convenience was a priority, evident in the addition of a shampoo niche and the inclusion of two shower heads. The dual shower heads not only provide practicality but also lend a luxurious spa-like ambiance to the bathroom. Finally, the original vanities were replaced by a custom double vanity, adding the finishing touch to this remarkable transformation.
AFTER
What a journey it’s been, and we’re thrilled to share it with you! This project was a special one for us, as it allowed us to reconnect with wonderful clients from the past. There’s something truly heartwarming about seeing familiar faces again.
From the dated bathroom layout with an awkwardly-placed bathtub to the stunning final result, this transformation has been nothing short of amazing. We believe that your space should serve you, and that’s exactly what we aimed for here.
Relocating the bathtub, expanding the shower area, and upgrading the vanity were all part of creating a master bathroom that’s not just functional but also luxurious. We hope you’ve enjoyed this journey with us as much as we have.
Revisiting old clients and making their spaces shine anew is our passion, and we can’t wait for the next opportunity to do it all over again. Thanks for being a part of this adventure, and stay tuned for more exciting projects in the future!

Beautiful transformation, as usual! Can you please share the link/info for the sliding shower door you used? Are there any tips you can offer for using the sliders to avoid leaks and/or keep clean? Thank you!
Hi Deborah! The shower glass door was custom-made for this shower. Our best tip to avoid leaks is to have your glass custom-fabricated for your exact space so there are no unnecessary gaps. Keep a small squeegee in the shower for a quick clean after each shower!
