Family Sanctuary Attic Addition
INTRO
Have you ever dreamed of transforming your abandoned attic into a beautiful, useful space? Join us for the spectacular transformation of the Family Sanctuary Attic Addition project. What began as a confined and underutilized attic space has blossomed into a sprawling retreat, seamlessly blending modern functionality with timeless charm. Get ready to witness how we breathed new life into this urban abode, creating a sanctuary that epitomizes comfort and style!
BEFORE
Like most people’s attics, this space was truly just a space for random storage hidden away and ready for a revamp. With its cramped space and lack of functionality, it was far from the cozy retreat our clients envisioned. But we were SO excited to get the ball rolling to create this space! With their dream in mind, they entrusted us to work our magic and turn their vision into reality.
Choosing the right team for the job isn’t easy. Our clients stated the factors that were involved in their decision to pick Irwin Construction:
“We enjoyed our initial consultation. The time that went into giving us a quote. The quote was priced fairly for the job. They were honest about when start times would be starting. We knew we would have to wait for them to start but we are so happy we did. We also liked that it was a husband wife team and that they could give us a design package on recommendations on everything from lighting to furniture.”
DURING
The attic makeover began with some serious structural upgrades aimed at maximizing both space and functionality. Think of it as giving the attic a much-needed facelift! We framed an extended dormer, essentially opening up the side of the roof to let the sunshine flood in and expand the living area. It’s like bringing the outdoors inside – minus the bugs!
We also framed a convenient downstairs hallway, making it super easy to access the newly added upstairs apartment without breaking a sweat. Convenience is key, right?
Now, onto the nitty-gritty stuff – the attic essentials! We laid down a sturdy subfloor to handle all of life’s adventures, from dinner parties to hosting your family. And because comfort is our middle name, we hooked up top-notch HVAC and a water heater to keep things cozy year-round. Plus, we added foam insulation for that extra efficiency factor – no chilly drafts or summer hot box here!
And let’s not forget about the plumbing and electrical work – the unsung heroes of any renovation project. We made sure everything was roughed in and ready to roll, setting the stage for the finishing touches that would bring this attic transformation to life.
AFTER
The culmination of our efforts brings us immense satisfaction as we see the attic transformed into a serene haven, blending both form and function seamlessly!
In the kitchen, the custom Shaker-style cabinetry adds a touch of elegance along with practicality, while the Elements Calacata Eiffel quartz countertops provide durability and style. The Hampton Snow Draper Pattern tile backsplash blends simplicity with luxury, tying the room together beautifully.
In the bathroom, the tranquil retreat is enhanced by the Zellige Gesso 4×4 tiles, offering a soothing ambiance for relaxation. Every detail, from the Schluter Jolly Trim to the LVP flooring, has been carefully selected to create a cohesive and inviting space.
But perhaps the most delightful addition is the balcony, offering a perfect spot to enjoy the wooded view of the back of the property. It’s a space where our clients and their guests can unwind and create lasting memories with friends and family, without ever having to leave the comfort of their own home.
Beyond the beauty, this renovation showcases the invaluable benefits an addition can bring to any home. Consider the newfound space – it’s not just about extra square footage, but the potential it holds for accommodating a growing family or maximizing living space, supporting multigenerational living, or creating a short or long-term rental apartment. Imagine having room for everyone to make memories together, or the convenience of not having to uproot your life in search of more space.
In conclusion, this renovation serves as a testament to the transformative power of an addition. It’s not just about updating a space – it’s about enhancing your lifestyle and creating a home that meets your needs and reflects your unique style.
Our clients LOVED the end result of their beautiful addition and had this to say:
“From start to finish I always felt as though I was heard in every area of the design and construction process. Also, all of the subcontractors were wonderful. This is a big one because during the construction process we lived in our home and I had some concerns initially about how it would be having guys working around the house when my kids are out playing and such. Every subcontractor was wonderful. Also, Kelley made it so easy when furnishing the space. I highly recommend having her put together a design package for you to bring it all together. Highly Recommend them and their entire team of subcontractors. “
We are so blessed for our amazing clients and team! The Family Sanctuary Attic Addition stands as a testament to the transformative power of vision and craftsmanship. We are immensely proud of the journey we undertook with our clients, and we invite you to explore the details of this remarkable project below. Who knows, you might find inspiration for your own addition sanctuary!
