The Nottingham Woods Modern Kitchen project is located in a highly-coveted area in Denton with mature trees, lots of parks and well-established homes. Built in the mid-80s, the Nottingham Woods house was in excellent repair but our clients desired a more up-to-date kitchen that aligned with their style.
Before
Our main goals for this project were to:
- Increase food prep and hosting space by swapping the smaller island for an over-sized island with bar seating
- Remove the old cabinets and fur downs and replace them with new custom cabinetry to maximize storage
- Rearrange the placement of appliances to improve functionality and gain more counter space
- Update the kitchen to achieve a sleek, modern feel

The Process
The Nottingham Woods kitchen was gutted down to the studs, giving us a blank canvas for the rebuild. We reconfigured the layout, moving the refrigerator and oven in order to create a longer counter area on the window wall. The same hardwood flooring from the living room was installed in the kitchen to improve flow between the spaces.
New custom inset cabinetry was installed and our clients selected beautiful gray quartz for the counters. We used 12×24 tile on the backsplash to give the feel of a solid-surface material with minimal disruption from grout lines.
